she's trying to tell you she doesnt want the Twintake but the ITG .......
So that's why the ITG uses foam - To soak up the damp

I reckon the Battery is goosed!

....Or even gandered!

Something like this has happened before - My car doesn't like not being driven for even just a few days.

There may be a power drain issue.  I know that problems have reared their heads when the Can-Bus module goes TU.  It allows a constant drain on the battery.  So after a few days the battery is flat.

I don't know if Robin has an aftermarket stereo or not but that might not help.

Hopefully he has his Select Plus switch and is able to restore his Revo settings or it will be a long journey to JKM.  :P

I was thinking the same thing... There must  be trickle to something somewhere as there's no way a battery should be flat like that in just a couple of days. My Fiancee's car is laid up for weeks at a time in the garage (with an alarm) and always fires first time. It's much older than an GTI could possibly be (W reg) and is still on its orginal battery.

At least if the Revo has been reset RR is headed in the right direct to get it sorted. God speed RR - looking forward to the review (even though it'll be an ITG for me. Function over form and all that...)  :happy2:
Only 250.1bhp - but with that noise, who cares?

Do you have a 3rd gen head unit (i.e. RNS510)? If so, there is a 1.3V power drain issue on the early mk5's with 3rd gen head units unless you replace the can gateway to a newer one. This would only show itself if the car is not drivn for a couple of days.

Sounds like his Fog lamps DRL's are draining his battery  :driver:

Battery life in a car of around 4 years has done well, with the damp weather, the dead cell will drain the others.

User error?

If the Twintake was fitted, I'd blame that...

99% sure its battery. mine did it when we fitted TFSI_mikes ITG. atnight. had my car parked with the lights on, thought i best run the engine for a bit and it just started to make this high frequency clicking noise.

you off to have your twintake fitted??

And charging your sat nav lol

Could pay to pick up one of those battery charger packs or instead pick yourself up a new battery if it does that.

Mine started first time after 4 months away in iraq.

....After 4 months! That's very impressive!

I think I saw a thread about battery chargers here but haven't read any of it yet.  :drinking:

Cupra fired straight away after 6.5 months in afghan too :D
