Coil spring let go - can I replace just the one?
« on: June 10, 2015, 09:34:34 pm »
I've found my recent knocking noise, the bottom ring of my NSR coil spring has let go. They are standard VW springs; can I replace just the failed one and does anybody have the part number please (2005 model, manual box).

Steve.

If it's a GTI spring you are after, and your in Cheshire you can have my remaining 3 for free  :happy2:

Gave one rear to my mate to get his Leon Cupra through the MOT.

In answer to your question, yes you can replace just the one spring but for the cost, have you considered some 30mm lower springs from H&R or Eibach? Retain ride comfort but improve handling a little bit and looks too... :happy2:
