i bet there is pretty much nothing between them that the average person would be able to notice. you would have to be pretty track orientated to be able to feel anything more in one or the other.  VWR must be good if they use them in the race cars.

vwr use quaiffe, and the ones in their race cars are quite different to the roadcar version

Who told you this?

AFAIK the ones VWR supply to GTI's are the same as their race ones. RR thought this and found out that they were the same.

Anyone confirm either way please?
Golf R gone.

^^^ They use a different plate diff in the race cars vs. the torque biasing diff that is fitted to the road going cars  :happy2:

I do remember reading about two variants too, it may even have been on Quaiffe's website in a press release?
Only 250.1bhp - but with that noise, who cares?

Mile-muncher ordered: MkVI 1.6 TDi BlueMotion Match DSG with leather, winter pack, luxury pack, fogs, climate control, Dynaudio pack, RCD510 with DAB & MDI, flat tyre indicator

....No, SteveP is right [since confirmed in his posted links]. I think that they perhaps used to be the same but not any longer. Sorry if I misinformed you - It was a while ago you and I had that conversation.

Many of these mods are also in constant development too, so things can and do change.

....Yes, but Quaife or Wavetrac?

Personally I'd wait to find out more from independent users of the Wavetrac. Sounds excellent though.

And, if DSG, be very very fussy about who installs your diff and don't buy fitting charges on lowest price.

Cheers, Steve.

It'll be interesting to see if the Wavetrac technology can be transferred to the DSG or not.
