Rns510 antenna adaptor
« on: June 17, 2015, 07:34:17 am »
Hi,

I have fitted a 510 and used the antenna adaptor that takes eg two separate leads I to the two housed in the single connector. I noticed that the single connector doesn't have any colour coding, so the cream or brown leads from the car can go to either terminal ?, the radio works great so guess the connection doesn't matter ?

Thanks

I fitted this adaptor: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181686898552 in a Passat when I sold my RNS-510 version A. The single connection was white so I connected it to the antenna cable with the white plug and it worked well. So I guess the cream antenna isn't much needed.

The OEM adaptor connects both antenna cables.

My car has two antenna leads, so the connector I have takes to separate connectors to two connectors combined on the back of the 510. I have the white and the brown feeding the 510. They are both needed for the diversity antenna, but don't know if they are meant to be a certain way round. No colour coding in the back of the 510, it's just a white dual connector.
