Exhaust time!
Mrstridey:
After working all the hours under the sun this month I have decided to put the overtime money to good use!
Have been umming and ahhing about this for a while but I'm gonna go an exhaust upgrade
I'm after a nice low burbly grunty noise
Also - i'm often up quite early for work and dont wanna be 'that guy' so don't want a fart cannon!!
Probably going to have about £550 or thereabouts to play with!
Hope you can help!
Dan
AJP:
You're probably in cat-back price range there rather than turbo-back, so don't expect any big power increase. Replacing the downpipe, and cat (with de-cat or sports cat) is where you'll release some power.
BCS are very popular on here, they do a Powervalve system that is quiet and civilised at part throttle, then nice and meaty on boost as a valve opens that bypasses a silencer.
Milltek are also a tried and tested brand. A few used systems come up for sale on here, and a full turbo-back exhaust with bigger downpipe may well come up within your budget.
Between the two, the consensus is that BCS are possibly better quality, but Milltek are still very good. If you go for Milltek, their 'resonated' systems are a bit quieter than their 'non-resonated'.
Hope this helps!
Mrstridey:
thanks buddy!
I was under the impression that the BCS powervalve ones are only available as a turbo back system? Or am I wrong?
From everything I've been reading i THINK i want/can afford a cat back non res system of some sort.
Just want to get the right one!
StuF:
Do a little more overtime and get the turbo back 200cell BCS valved system
Nice and quiet off boost - group B rally car on boost
It worth the extra effort and expense - they are very very well made systems! :happy2:
dom069:
I'll be selling a non-resonated milltek cat back in the next few days
