DSG - P Key issue
« on: June 25, 2015, 07:57:21 pm »
Hey guys,

I recently fitted my Ed30 Gear knob. Un forunitly the gearknob didnt have the springs supplyied, so I thought id used the ones from my OEM gear knob.

Anyway long story short, all is fitted but i was unable to fit the springs. I quickly realised that all the springs essenally do is hold the button down to prevent it from being lifted up.

Issue I am now having is, When I place the car into "P" my key wont come out, the way to get my key out requires me to slide back into "S" then back into "P" then all is fine.....

This issue has only happened since fitting the new ED30 gearknob, only difference is the springs arnt fitted. anyone know what im doing wrong?

Anyone? My thought is hopefully that i haven't fitted the gearknob correctly. Anyone have some insight for me please?

Fitting the springs will more than likely sort it. They're in there for a reason.

You could try VW or TPS to see if the springs are available to purchase seperately.

The DSG shifter knobs don't have parts available and are sold complete, sadly your only options are find the springs or buy some generic ones  :happy2:
