Rns510 maps question
« on: June 27, 2015, 04:43:58 pm »
Hi guys,

Bit of a technical question I'm hoping some one can help with.
A friend of mine has 2010 passat cc with the following rns510 fitted:
Part number 1T0 035 680 CX
HW: H06
SW: 2840 supposedly now upgraded to 2850 by vw dealers.
Production date: 24/2012 which I believe is the 24th week of 2012.

All the above maybe useless info, however the question is, his maps are currently west Europe v6. He has now bought West and East Europe v12 discs (2discs). Is it possible for him to store both CDs on his hard drive? Currently it wipes off the existing data and stores only one disc.
He does need both on there so if there are any options I could suggest to him that would be good.

Thanks,
Usman

It's possible but I don't know the DVD your friend has, so I don't know what's the problem with them.

I had a guy who wanted the same thing done on his version C rns 510. I advised him to install the western Europe maps on the hdd, and when you need to use the Eastern Europe ones,  put the disc and in select use disc rather than Install. That way you're running eastern Europe off the disc and western Europe from the hdd

You can only have one version in the RNS-510 hard drive. I thought your friend wanted to store a copy of each maps in the hard drive of his computer.

RetroRaz gave you a good suggestion but I don't know if it works or not.
