Window tints
« on: June 28, 2015, 02:43:48 am »
Evening all, did any of the MK5's come with privacy glass fitted? If so what percentage is it as I'd like to get mine done in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks

As far as I'm aware the earlier gti's and r32's came with a factory blue style tint to the glass and the later ones about 2007+ had the option for privacy glass.

We chose privacy glass as an option on the Mrs's Audi a1 last year and it's about 30-35% tint so I'm assuming VW would be around the same

Most window tinting places will be able to provide you with a nice factory looking tint and they no how dark/light to go.

The green privacy glass is around 35%.

Llumar made a matching window film for VW, so if you find a Llumar installer, they should be able to sort to bout.

Failing that, I found graphite window films to be slightly green.

I had 35% on mine, looked slightly darker than factory.
How hard can it be?
