Finally getting the RNS 510 but where are you guys putting the GPS puk in you cars?

Mk5 Jetta 2.0l Tdi 140 se Apex RDX coilovers, BBS VZ003, Skyline tails, Genuine Xenons more to come

I put mine behind the clusters,  theres a peice if metal so the puck sticks onto it as its magnetic

You can test how good your puck location is by using the satellite detection on the main menu - press the map button when on Nav page and go through the menu until you see GPS and look at how you doing for satellite detection,it will give a value.
5 plus satellites is required for it to perform to a decent standard.
Or as someone else wrote

Press the map button twice to display the split screen (if it's not already shown), then in the drop down list on the split screen, select GPS Viewer. That will tell you how many satellites the unit is currenty tracking.

I stuck mine on top of the head unit. (Only had it a month or so). Couldn't get out of Cardiff to save my life last weekend. It was awful. Will try the test thing as mentioned above tonight.
