Rns 510 upgrade advice
« on: July 04, 2015, 09:43:27 am »
Hi ,
I've just bought my first golf gti a mk5 2007 and I'm looking to upgrade the stardard radio to the rns510.

Is there anything I need to watch out for in my previous car I fitted with he audi rnse which was just plug and play but I've seen people saying about battery drain on some cars ! How do I avoid this ?

Thanks
Neiller

Get a CAN not listed here: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Navigation_System_%28RNS510%29_Retrofitting

My Ed. 30 MY2008 came with a 1K0 907 530 L and a RNS-510 version A. It's perfectly compatible with more than just the RNS-510. You can get newer from ebay easily too. Just make sure you can code it or have someone to do it for you.

Eddie-NL sells them already coded too.

Other than that you need an antenna adaptor. Just check the Mod Catalogue to find the part number or search ebay.
