Rear wiper motor replaced but still having issues
« on: July 06, 2015, 06:17:28 am »
I hope someone can help.

A few weeks ago I started my car up and the rear wiper switched on and would not turn off. Eventually I pulled the fuse out to get it to stop. Anyway when I put the fuse back a few days later the wiper had stopped and would not come back on. I can hear the relay clicking and the fuse is good. Scanned with VCDS and no error codes.

What I have done to try and fix this.....

1. Checked wiring loom between chassis and boot on the left (passenger side) few wires were bare from stretching/rubbing, taped them up, still no luck.

2. Replaced wiper motor (tried out two different ones)

3. Replaced the entire loom from the left side of the boot.

4. Replaced the relay.

5. Checked the loom on the right hand side and it was fine.

I'm at a loss now, don't know what else to check? Has anyone got any ideas?

I shut the boot and the boot light goes off, the boot closes and opens normally. Everything else works. The rear washer jet works just not the bloody wiper motor.

Can I do any sort of test using vcds and measuring blocks? Any thing I can do?

Any pointers guys? Why is the rear wiper still not working?

You may find its the stalk behind the steering wheel. Mines the same symptoms but everything else on the stalk works, so I live with it.

At long last sorted it. Stupid fuse was not seated properly.
