I'd be lying if I said I wasn't choosing RamAir again purely on noise. I am actually, because its also cost, they're great prices.

The price and the noise is also the selling point for me. Such a good price compared to other manufactures and I'd put decent money on there been hardly any difference in quality or performance.

The more expensive kits have been seen to produce slightly better lower end torque compared to the cheaper intakes but it's only a small amount, again not worth the £200 premium over the RamAir kits. Unless you're chasing big numbers, ceramic coatings and carbon fibre to help with heat soak are a bit overkill. Then again, who doesn't like shiny things?

I don't see how the more expensive kits are better. It only a few bits of pipe and a filter?? Where's the restriction??

Any links to any proof or data to support that claim? The only major difference with the Revo is that it is one continuous pipe whereas the Ramair has several joins, which is not ideal for airflow but any effects will be negligible.

I don't have either kit as i went full DIY, but i am curious.....

That's exactly my point.  BHP figures can be affected by air temperature and air pressure on the day, so one day a REVO intake may produce the better figures, the next day the RamAir will be the best and the day after that an ITG intake.

There's an element of Emporers New Clothes with these types of products, also some people like to be seen to buy the most expensive type of equipment and some others equate expense with quality.  There's a myriad of different reasons to be honest.

With the RamAir product it's one of the cheapest intakes out there, it seems of a decent quality and people seem to be using them with no issues.  Where's the downside? Seems like a no brainer to me.

Sorry, I phrased that wrong, I should of said I've seen a few topics in the past and dyno prints outs of a very slight difference low down, but even tested back-to-back on the same day the effects are not really noticable in real world terms.

Just look at it this way, a K04 RamAir CAI is £190 (actually £171 with the 10% off) where as the VW Racing intake is £420+! The reason I would consider the VWR intake over the others is it has one less bend in it as it's attached in the OE position, thus one less restriction on air flow. But again, only in big BHP chases is this an issue.

Even just a panel filter is £22.50 after the discount! That's insanely cheap for what is going to be a great filter.

Exactly. 10% if buying alone (using the code 10OFF on the webstie). 25% (effective) if buying in pairs. Wonder if the 10% offer works with a pair of kits as well when checking out on eBay..?

Called ramair. Person I need to speak to is not available. So will try again. They said the offer on eBay is buy 2 and the 3rd is half price.

Hmm, if you by 2 and a third at half price, it works out at a 16% (approx.) discount, where as buying single units through their website is a 10% discount then. Still, if 3 people want the same kit then it's worth working together.
