Tuning RNS 510 radio
« on: July 12, 2015, 10:24:14 pm »
Hello all

I have updated my stereo from RCD300 and installed an RNS510 H.
Is there anyway to auto tune the radio?
The reception on my old RCD300 was good but I can only find 2 stations when I manually tune the RNS510, Radio 1 and Classic!
I have looked around and found instructions that state the RNS will automatically tune to strong reception stations, but not mine!

Can anyone help?

If you can't find them manually by tuning into the frequency's you know in your area then autotune won't be able to find anything either. You have replaced with an OEM RNS510 so you shouldn't have any issues with radio reception so I'd pull the radio out and check your aerial is connected properly.

Hopefully yours isn't like mine and has awful reception. I'm wondering if the antenna booster is knackered on mine?!

The RNS-510 has a similar if not better radio reception of a RCD-500 (that I had previously on my GT Sport).

The problem might be in the antenna connection, antenna amplifier (base of the antenna or on the side of the rear view window) or RNS-510 radio processor problem.
