It will be ok don't worry, DS2500 are not that aggressive 0,42 friction coef compared to EBC Red Stuff 0,5.  :happy2:
You'll also get better cooling from the vented disks.

Can't wait for your first impressions. They will need 200/300 km to bed in properly.  :driver:

Nice. I can't wait to have all done and the car back in my hands. :driver:

I've ordered the R32 dust shields too (5N0615611E and 5N0615612E), to have a complete OEM look.

Aren't they for the 4motion hubs only?

No, they will fit fine on normal hubs. ;)
They'll fit perfect on yours too.

AFAIK only one bolt might not fit properly, so it may be required to drill an hole for it to fit perfectly. :happy2:

I might go down this route you know, looking at costs and it's crazy not to! So far I've found these on eBay...

Fronts:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281729609971?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Rears:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231610832790?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Need to work out discs, pads, adaptors and lines now! But so far calipers and refurbs looks to be less than £1000, my mission will to be to get both front and rear set ups for less than the cost of VW Racing front 6 piston brakes.

Saying that:
http://www.awesomegti.com/car/vw/golfmk6/ecs-stage-5-big-brake-kit-drilled-grooved-358x32mm

Could be a winner, just get the rears at a later date to match the ECS Tuning kit.

If anyone's got a how-to guide for doing this kit, PLEASE let me have it as I'll need as much info as possible. May even fit these myself to save more money, rude not to now I have a full work shop at my disposal!

Front setup DIY: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5830375-Brembo-18Z-6-piston-brake-upgrade.-DIY-BBK-write-up.-Big-brakes-for-under-a-grand.

Disc brakes:
-ML55 or GL450 350 mm

Pads:
Ferodo DS2500 (330 mm discs) (190,1x99x16,8) FCP1625H

Pad wear sensor wires: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381287223597

Braided brake lines: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111046291292

Aluminium discs centring rings: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111392994828

Calipers adaptors: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111067552499

It's better to get the pads for the Brembo 17Z calipers since they match perfectly with the 350 mm ML discs. I got the EBC Redstuff for the 17Z (DP31521C).

You can get the calipers, adaptors and brake lines from this shop: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151515479484

Addiction Motorsport has all that you need but not all items have the best price available. The store also recommends to get the smaller pads (DS2500 FCP1625H) for the 18Z: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111049676173.

Handbrake caliper? I posted about them a while back as someone on vortex had a group buy on the brackets think they were using Cayenne calipers and a Handbrake caliper from an R8 or jag.

FA = f*ck All.

Right! :happy2:

Yeah, the HB caliper should be from an R8. Not sure if the bracket wasn't a custom order from a latte...

@dazza - http://www.creationsmotorsport.com/product-detail.php?pid=667

Found this while on a massive Google search last night. I e-mailed them to find out about whether you can fit a Brembo HB rather than use the stock OE caliper (as mentioned in the description). Brembo HB:
http://www.brembo.com/en/Van/Original-Equipment/Products/Pages/Freno-di-stazionamento.aspx

And for info, I've used PW Motorsport before, they're top guys! Trouble is, I'd like my calipers in matching colours and both in blue so I'll probably buy some calipers that need a refurb and get them done myself.

So much for the Golf R staying stock!

Also, if anyone can find where to get parking brakes from, that'd be great. So far I can only find a set of Aston Martin ones in the USA at $600 before shipping!
