Got a suspicion that a 1.2 Polo courtesy car wont get me into the 13's

minutes

@RR is that not something you've ever been interested in going ot the pod. you have DSG and a diff, it could be a recipe for some good runs.

I plan on it later on next year, been a few times with my mate in his WR1 scooby and his brothers ford ka, both of which run low 13s. (that ka is a weapon, standard exterior, but with 2.1zvh conversion, nitrous and LSD=alot of unhappy people haha). they are both mad for it. never ran there myself though

Robins car would be good to see down the quarter mile, but Robins Reactions off the start line might be as long as his actual run

or perhaps ask for which direction to go

sorry Robin  :ashamed:

how many runs do you reckon you'd be likely to get.

Im tempted but im guessing id be a wheel spinning mess off the line in mine. not really into traffic light gran prixs. normally short shift to second if i boot it off the line so that i have more grip. what s the technique then.

I would say 3 or 4 in the morning and the same again in the afternoon.. Thats without making any real effort, if you want to do lots of runs then I would say you would probably be able to do the best part of 16-18 over the course of the day..

Ill only be doing 2 or 3 all day..

You only need around 2500rpm to get a FWD (on road tyres without a diff) off the line well, just control the wheel slip, so that you have slip (bogging is as bad as lighting them up) until 2nd gear then so long as your hooked at that point nail it and go..

It all really depends on grip levels though, all of the cars will vary massively..

Robin.. I'll drive your car down the strip for you  You get to see it in all it's glory then..  :happy2:

....That's a very attractive and kind offer :drinking: and a great way of seeing just how fast or slow my car is. Is it the individual driver or the car that gets charged? - Either way I'll pay an appropriate amount to make sure it doesn't cost you to drive my car.

I'm now gonna look into going to the Autosport Show on the Saturday and then continue my journey on to The Pod on Sunday.

However, if it's snowing etc on the day I shan't show.
