Pulling to left when braking hard
« on: July 11, 2015, 09:25:32 pm »
Car seems to be pulling to the left when heavy braking and wobbling all over the place!

Any ideas? Still on standard brakes and was always fine until recently, seems unstable under hard braking.

Possibly a sticky caliper

Sounds like bushes have gone.

That would cause it to veer unde braking and sometimes acceleration.
I replaced my console and front wishbone bushes which resolved that issue on my mk5, and don't forget sn alignment.

I've got an anti lift kit waiting to go on, so that should help with an alignment. Did you uprate the front bushes? Or just stay OEM?

Well if you have a WALK to go on thats the console bush.
Put the power flex or superpro front-front wishbone bush

Hi,
I have a volvo xc90 that has a braking problem.
When you brake the car really pulls to the left, steering wheel doesnt seem to pull it, it just seems to veer left.
I found a cracked reluctor ring, replaced it and still no joy, hooked diagnostics upto it to read abs sensor signals while driving and they are all giving a good signal.
Strange thing is, it brakes in a straight line with the abs fuse removed so has to be abs related.
Any ideas before i sell it for spares or repairs?

Everyone on the volvo forum seems to think it bushes but i really dont think it is

I've had the console bushes (walk) put on and all bushes on the car checked, checked and checked again with bars and shaker plates!

And still under braking and accelerating the car pulls hard left.

The quicker you are going, the worse it pulls when braking and accelerating.

Any ideas guys??

When not braking or accelerating it drives dead straight.

Did you have an alignment done as well?
