BBS Audi Speedline Refurbishment
« on: July 15, 2015, 01:37:01 pm »
Hi all,
Just got my hands on a set of genuine 19" audi speedlines ET48 8.5J. Wheels were already split by the owner and he managed to break only one bolt head. So i was looking at refurbing the centres in a gun metal grey with polished lip. The barrels have cleaned up pretty well and look like original audi silver.

Few questions though, firstly, shall i leave the barrels like this as they won't be seen much and they will be caked in brake dust in no time and aren't super easy to clean. Secondly, how are these rims bolted back together? do i need to set a torque wrench or do i just tighten as feels. the wheels are going on a mk5 gti in black and on koni coilovers.

Any help will be much appreciated
Thanks

If I were you I'd get the barrels painted as it will stop them from corroding and make them more desirable when/ if you come to sell them. Just coat them with a few layers of wax before you put them on and then take them off/ clean and reseal every 6 months or so.
