My car is costing me £900 just before Xmas
« on: December 15, 2009, 09:21:32 am »
My Beloved blue bullet is going to cost me just short of £900 just before Xmas   :surprised: :surprised:

It's not broken before you all start  :signLOL:

Basically it's having a 3rd Variable Service, Cambelt & Water Pump change (which is my choice at 51k miles) and the garage are kindly fitting some DS2500 pads to the front all for £650 which is a bargain price as they have an offer on at the moment where they pay the VAT so its saved me about £100. The garage are good though as the Service Guy was doing his best to talk me out of the CamBelt & Water Pump change as they only need doing at 75k according to them (i thought it was 60k myself) but with the car being heavily modified id rather pay out now than have to fork out for a new engine

Then i am getting 2 x New front tyres fitted which is cost £238.50 fitted (Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta if your wondering)

Not good just before Xmas, Honeymoon to pay by 8th Jan and Wedding coming up at end of March. Plus 4 Family Birthdays between Jan & End of march.

It's all bloody money these days. Why can't we just make everything free

Carl :happy2:

Tell me about it mate, women and cars are just not a good mix! A new set of alloys have just killed me plus my misses though it would be a good idea to go and work in France for six months, best of all in the most expensive ski resort in the whole country, WICKED! That'll be the best part of £2k sir for seven days to see her over Christmas  :fighting: :fighting:

Yep, Christmas time and I'm gonna need a new clutch and the cambelt might as well be done at the same time

Think its time to move the GTI on, I've spotted my next more sensible drive :surprised:

... I think a wedding and honeymoon costs a tad more than a bit of carpet! I could buy a well specced R20 for what we're blowing on ours...

EDIT: That should read 'what she's blowing on ours...' Will be worth every penny though!
Only 250.1bhp - but with that noise, who cares?

In the last 6 weeks I've had an insurance bill, insurance renewal, 12 months tax and a service on my car.  I also need two front tyres but that's going to have to wait until the new year.

On top of all that I started decorating the lounge which includes buying/installing a woodburner, painting walls & ceilings, laying a wood floor and fitting new skirting boards.

FOR SALE!
