Steel Grey Fat-5 TDI.
« on: July 19, 2015, 04:33:52 pm »
Hi everyone  :happy2: sorta new to the site well ive bought a few bits not really posted much so thought id start a thread. Own a Mk5 Steel Grey GT Tdi 140 3rd owner from new and ive had it just over 2 years now.

Options included
Climate Pack
Full heated leather
GT Tdi optional extra 17" Wheels.

I added a few options after
Cruise Control
Gti Front bumper
Smoothed Centre Grill and small number plate moved down
Gti Side Skirts
Colour coded
Polo aerial
MK6 rear Badge
Xenons
Angel Eye fogs
FK Coliovers
Fat 5 wheels

Used to own a Corsa C which was once featured in Fastcar before this. It ended up having 2lt Z20LET before i sold it

Unfortunatly dont have any photos of it when it was standard apart from this when i changed the front bumper

Did play around with a few wheel options, custom BBS RC 17", 10.5J Rears and 8.5J fronts

Didn't get to mount these as i lost of interest in the car, but these were in a really bad state when i got them and very rare PLS Evolution II 17" 8.5J rears and 7.5J fronts. SOLD Both sets and decided i would just enjoy driving the car as 17" was a little harsh on the road in terms of practicality.

Currently this is how it looks. Got a few bits i want to do to it.
R Line Rear Lower Bumper
Refurb the Fat 5s
front bumper could do with a respray
25mm rear spacers
im working on the skyline mod and ive got a set of rear lights which ive split.
Flat bottom steering and Highline clocks
Sat Nav
Gti Spolier

its still a low milage TDi for its age and i use it to commute to work so get to drive it everyday

Tidy car mate looks really nice
I've always been tempted to get a set of fat fives, ever thought of getting them polished?

Agree with that, sits very nicely on the fat fives. And polished would be even better.

Nice motor

Don't get alphards I hate them!
Fat fives look so classy and the fitment is spot on
My plan if I got some was to polish them, seen them on a black mk5 and looked sweet

Park on a very busy highstreet for work and fear a polished wheel effect could draw too much attention had some idiot drive into the side not long ago

Bit Of An Update:

Currently working on the Skyline/quad rear light Mod, bought a spare set of rear lights to work on but one of the lenses was damaged so waiting on a replacement. But i did manage to take them all apart which is a bit fiddly first time round i know i will take them apart easier next time. Going for LED rings in the main and the inner tailgate lamps that way i can have the same  colour match inners and outers, also going to have the inners as indicators but still keeping the fog and reverse lights in essence having LED rings to emit the amber colour needed and the normal bulbs emitting reverse and fog (will have to be a red LED).

Also decided i will paint the inner panel matt black so they can look like R32 one but with a bit of a difference as ive painted most of the inner panel.

Main ones stripped

Inner

Outers can be stripped further if you want to removing the chrome backing to paint

Started masking the parts i dont want painting, dont think the r32 ones are painted around the red ring could be wrong but thats how it looks to me.

Sanded down ready for paint

You will notice im missing a passenger side inner thats because the one i bought was damaged. if someone wants to donate please feel free

Just a trial fit need to clean the backing plate and remove the excess glue and lighting.

[URL=http://s131.photobucket.com/user/waj27/media/thumb_IMG_6432_1024.jpg.html]

Think they look a little darker than R32 ones

Will update more when the rings get here and the other lights ive ordered. Thanks
