New guy, new car
« on: October 27, 2015, 10:03:08 pm »
Bought this last week as I needed something a bit more economical, coming from twin turbo legacies it wasnt hard to find though!

Thought I'd sign up and say hello it's a 1.9 tdi with some bits on it, I'm not sure what's standard and what's not to be honest! I know the wheels aren't stock but that's about as far as I know. First golf by the way most my stuff has been jap metal.

If anyone could point out what's not stock id be very grateful!

Also read on here about the warranty on the paint, it's going into vw Salisbury tomorrow to see what they say about the wings and sills and boot, chap on the phone from vw didn't question the 12 year warranty so hoping for the best!

Welcome to the site mate.

At first glance:

GTI front bumper
GTI/R32/Ed30 side skirts
R32 rear bumper
Aftermarket exhaust
GTI headlights.
Lowering springs/coilovers.
Can't make out the wheels.

Oh and that GTI badge.... ;-) I'd be tempted to lose that.

Tidy.

Welcome, as the above post states the gti front bumper, r32 rear bumper are the most obvious ones! The front badge obviously has been plastidipped at some stage and your front fog light grilles are also honey Combe which means from a gti or a gti replica! As well as your yellow tinted front fogs. It does however look nice but I would assume a GT front end comes as standard on your model which means different fogs also!

Welcome ! You can tell the previous owner has put some work into it. I hear If the wings have been sprayed they are unlikely to touch them as a word of advice.

Nice motor and yes, some work has gone into that.

As said above, first thing I thought when I read tdi and saw the GTi badge was to lose it

Quite a bit that is non stock but looks very nice indeed.

Out of interest if you are going back to stock would you be selling any of the modifications?

Does the badge come off easily? It's not an integral part of the grill?

Nah I won't be taking any bits off, I can't have a normal car, has to have something done to it!

I've gone far enough having a diesel let alone a stock diesel car :)
