My diesel lump needed a remap to have a wider powerband. Stock maps don't really push the engine at higher RPM. After fitting a bigger turbo and removing the DPF its exhaust note became more throaty and sporty.

I know it's nothing compared with my GTI and its BCS Powervalve system but it's better than the stock sound.

In my country diesel costs 1,22 €/L, while petrol 98 RON costs 1,68 €/L. It's easy to prefer using diesel on a daily basis.

My GTI is more of my car toy and for short drives when the diesel isn't available. :driver:

Best I've managed is 42.3mpg on a journey to work.  That's 4 miles in 30 zone and 26 miles on the motorway.

Yes, of course. It's hard to get that mpg with a petrol engine.

My record is 56 mpg with a Polo 9n 1.2. Really boring trips I did with that car...

As i said earlier, i've managed this, over the shown distance on my way to a mate's garage for MOT. Only done this once as a test - never again! (Yaaaawn!!!) Not all motorway driving either, last 3 miles were A roads and country lanes.

Would much rather 32-33mpg on a run going 50% faster  :signLOL: :driver:

My car is a 1.4 tsi petrol :booty: and on the work run I don't drive with any spirit what so ever! On the way home from work however I usually hit 30mpg :)

You and your twin charged engines! You do the almost impossible of being able of doing great mileage and good power output. Really good consumption.  :happy2:

You fooled me because you don't have a boost needle like I would expect from a TSI.  :ashamed:
