Ive done 77000 miles in my edition 30 and never needed any tools other than those to take  wheel off.

Usually the only tool in my car is me!  :popcornsoda:

I have a small tool bag in my boot at all times, always have in all my cars
Just a few basic bits and bobs
Fortunately I've only ever had to use them on other people's cars

I used to have quite a complete toolkit in a highly modified Volvo S40 T4 I used to own... Everything from split pins to axle stands! It got a bit silly... And highly strung cars are not practical!

Leave all your tools at home and make sure you have full breakdown cover.

I always have basic tools in the car however I don't recall ever using them for a breakdown.

You might want to consider taking a few spare fuses and bulbs. It's not nice getting pulled over for a brake light failure   :sad1:

Did i quick once over on the car. One of the CV boot clips is leaking tried to tighten it up but the clip is mangled. Decided to take the clip off. If i get a new clip can i undo it and put it on or will i have to remove the hub?

This is urgent as we set off tomorrow.

If you have an undercarpet boot storage compartment, you can get basic tools in there like screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, gas soldering iron and even a emergency tyre repair kit thingy

I did manage to slip a new clip on. Got a much better seal this time.

I can't be bothered to mess about with tools not much room with my boot build and all the luggage.

Always had a litre of oil in any car I drive and tools for changing a wheel. Other than that, good break down cover and less worrying are my tips.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!
