GOLF MK5 Radio upgrade
« on: August 01, 2015, 11:13:20 am »
Just recently got my first car being a 2005 MK5 Golf 1.6 FSI SE 115 it has what i believe from research is a RCD300 i want to upgrade this to allow phone connectivity so i can play music though that way as i dont have/use CD's, from the research i have done it seems to be a bit of a minefield.

i would be looking at a double din unit along the lines of something like this http://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/dab-radios-car-stereos/pioneer-mvh-av270bt-6-2-car-stereo

now some things i have seen are things tile cable harness adapters, CANBUS ?, and facias

i gather a facia is needed to tidy things up but what sort of cables should i be looking for and do i need a CANBUS or is the current fine ?

Appreciate and help/guidance on this

Thanks,
Matt
