Price for new sump and fitting?
« on: December 16, 2009, 08:51:37 am »
Hmm, i smashed my sump last night and its pissing with oil. managed to get it towed about 50 miles back home but now i face the daunting task of working out what else might of been damaged...

im hoping that its just the sump... and a fresh load of oil.

Any one know a rough price im looking at for this?

I have no idea of a price mate but when i  was last at psi tuning they were tallkiing about making a shallow sump for lowered cars with the 2.0tfsi engine might be worth giving them a try :happy2:

I smashed my r32 sump doing silly things over a hump back bridge, was bricking it thinking £400, think the sump was less than £100 and about the same to fit it from vw, very surprised.

how the hell did you smash it, is your car actually lowered??

Remember give david a call @ sere motors on SCN for cheap vag parts, if you dont go for the smaller sump.

LOL! The sump really isn't the lowest thing on the front end.. You may want to see what else has been smashed / bent..  :surprised:

Ill try get you a pic of what i mean..

I just mean if its hit the ground hard enough to crack the sump LOTS of other things on the front end will have made even heavier contact with the road, as the sump is about 6-8mm higher up than the bottom amrs, mid section sub frame, front crash section etc etc..

You must have been flying.. Literally!!

What's the inside of a sump like - i.e. is it worth seeing if PSI will do a baffled one?

Andy's a clever chap BTW, if he's making them, you know they're pukka.
Sideways yo!
