I installed mine myself a year or so ago and it's a good unit. The interface could be nicer though.

The installation wasn't too bad. You'll probably want a set of trim removal tools on hand for getting the centre of the dash apart. It's a bit nerve wrecking as everything is so nicely fitted it doesn't just fall apart! Mine was pretty much plug and play but after having the dash apart again to fit a mic for the Bluetooth mine still doesn't work. You can make calls and hear the person on the other end but can they hear me? Like f**k can they! Maybe it's just a pinched wire or something but it's not really bothered me, I will eventually get round to sorting it out. Other than that no issues really. It annoys me that I have to plug in my iPhone to charge and in to aux to get sound from it, 1 cable would be far preferable.

Quick tip is to make sure that you don't turn on the ignition while the passenger airbag warning light is unplugged as it puts on the airbag light which you need vagcom to turn off. I learn that one twice.

Mfsw works out of the box, joys of having a HU designed for this specific car.

HTH, anything else, just ask.

Sorry to jump on this thread - any one had issue using a USB stick with theirs?

Mines updated to the latest software etc but if I insert a USB with music it will play for a short while then reset the unit :-(

Tied various USB sticks.

Also I notice there is a little white noise through my speakers.  It stops when I press the brake pedal.  Bad earth?

I have no issues at all mate I would say you have a wiring issue somewhere. Start by removing the unit and checking for any exposed wires

I have / had one of these, I seem to remember there's a limit on the size of the USB stick you can use. Might be that.

Think it's a wiring thing.

Want to have a look but worried about damaging the trim.

Perhaps I'll pop it in to a local ice company.
