mk5 golf with bam engine

just fitted 225 bam engine in my mk5 golf all fitted no wondering about ecu have the doner ecu and wiring harness is it difficult to match it to the golf had the imobiliser deleted

You've put a 1.8t in your 2.0t golf? I must ask why?

no brought a 3 door 16 fsi  55 plate for under a 1000 pound with engine no good so thought i would put my bam engine in that i have had sitting in the garage for 8 months and see how it works out as they fit in most older golfs with a little work

I wonder if the companies that make a mk5-to-mk4 wiring loom could fabricate it in reverse for you? I can't recall a company name that does such a loom but they exist. This is tricky as there is a large number of fundamental changes between the two generations but I'd bet that it's not overly difficult to figure out, will just take a long while working out which bits of both looms you'll need. I'd imagine you'll have to use the 1.8T ECU and then work some coding magic on it to get it happy with all the features of the mk5 platform.

That, or run a stand alone engine management system and retain the stock ECU for everything else?

Qpeng do the tfsi - mk4 loom

It's alot easier to wire bam to mk5 but might struggle to get all the functions of the clock working properly, odd choice of conversion seeing as you can pick up a tfsi motor for the price of a bam
