Advan Racing Wheels are they genuine?
« on: August 02, 2015, 04:39:15 pm »
I bought these about 15 month ago and paid a fair amount for them. Whilst browsing the web I came across a few threads mainly on the Evo forums that there are Advan replicas available. Do any of you guys have any knowledge on the Advan brand I know they are mainly for Japanese market hoping some people may of had evo's, scoobys and come across this brand. I have had a little search and from what I can find they are genuine. They will be up for sale soon and don't want to sell them as genuine if there not.
There Are quiet a few engraved markings inside and out wheel
Few pics of inner and outer wheel.

ADRZF is engraved on one spoke so I presume they are ZF model
Any help appreciated
Weight is 18kg with brand new goodyear assy 2 mounted not sure what these tyres weigh

I have no idea but generally made in Japan for a Japanese wheel is a good start...

Google the model numbers, verify the widths and offsets available. if all match up then it's probably a genuine one.  :happy2:

Their weight could also be an indication of genuine or copies. Genuine ones are pretty light aren't they?

With tyre it's 18kg think tyre is about 25/26lbs 10-11kg so obviously that makes wheels 7-8kg which is bloody light

At that weight they will be genuine. I've found that reps tend to weigh in at least a good 2+kg more than genuine.
Golf R gone.
