Best fitting 3rd party panels
« on: August 05, 2015, 08:21:18 am »
I am in need of a wing and a bonnet and possibly a door. Do any of the gsf or ecp parts fit well? I read somewhere the wings do but not sure on brand or who stocked it.

What is the saving over a £130 genuine one?

I'd stick with the genuine ones... You know they're going to fit correctly without messing about adapting them ect

Maybe get decent used ones from a breakers, they've got to be painted either way unless your lucky enough to find some the correct colour!

I am looking at breaking ones off eBay. But laser blue seems quite rare?

So yes I most likely need to repaint. Is it easier and cheaper for a body shop to respray in the same colour as the panel?

Any decent bodyshop would be able to sort it for you...

They wouldn't just paint the panel they'd have to blend it in so it matches.

Do you need a whole door, as you can remove just the door skin?

The passenger has a few dents. So I only need skin as I can replace or the trim and windows etc.

If the glass, door handles, rubber seal is ok then yes just the door skin...

If the dents are small and the paint isn't damaged it may be cheaper to have some paintless dent removal rather than replace and paint it

Good find mate. Have asked on its condition. Ideally I am after a wing first.

You could give these people a call and ask them to send you pics of the wings they've fitted http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-new-N-S-front-wing-for-VW-Golf-MK5-painted-in-LD5Q-Shadow-Blue-/231641101340?hash=item35eee2b41c

Just noticed this on eBay thought it might be for you http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLKSWAGEN-GOLF-GTI-2004-2008-BONNET-BLUE-LC5J-/281766958165?fits=Model%3AGolf%7CPlat_Gen%3AMK+V&hash=item419a9e9455

I just received the wing off that car and unfortunately the bloody courrier damaged it.
