Crankcase Breather Hose
« on: August 06, 2015, 10:44:29 am »
Hey guys,
First off I'm new to this forum, just got a mk5 2.0FSI, so hi!

I found the other day that the crankcase breather hose (thats what I think it is) has a crack in it. Obviously I want to replace it but am finding it hard to source the part. Its the part circled in red

Also it was stuttering and juddering at about 2000rpm. Could this be linked to the breather hose and a loss in vacuum?

Thanks
Luke

Cracked Crankcase breather hose will result in a vac leak with the standard PCV fitted. Expect to pay about £18 from a dealer for a replacement

Thats the rear cam cover breather that feeds in to the turbo. The crank breather runs from the front of the block, up and around the inlet manifold and in to the right hand side of the PCV Valve, nearest the HPFP.

Just checked the hose today and its completely broken into 2 almost 3 pieces! Its going to be changed on monday at the stealers which is a 10minute drive away. This short drive wont damage anything will it?
