Doubt there's any benefit from the induction kit at all, but it was free so I thought I'd give it ago, if there's no gains or even a loss as suggested it will come off,  doesn't sound or feel any different so prob won't stay on,

The spoiler was an eBay find,

Also swapped back to my gti front, honestly think I prefer it, although don't like the whole replica image   :sad1:

Diesel engines air boxes are good, much better than that induction kit. Search online, I'm sure you can find the explanation. :happy2:

Taken the induction kit off this morning if there no gains or even a loss it's not worth having it on

Cheers for the input,

That looks very tidy mate. Love the wheels - had a very similar set on my old mk4.

If it was me though I'd lose the GTD badge (we all know there's no such thing as a mk5 GTD) and maybe spray the red strip black/grey. That should move you away from the GTI Replica look..! But that's just me.

Put gtd badges on as didn't want to use gti badges, but if I lose the badges the grill has the mounting point on it and just looks odd with out a badge, would of liked it if my gt sport badge would of fitted the grill,

For me it was VW's mistake of not making a GTD in the mk4 and mk5 generations. The mk4 had the GTI TDI, but not with the PD150 engine, AFAIK.

You can argue about the red stripe in the grill but I personally like it better that way. A chrome strip would look a bit weird, I think.

I made my own mk5 GTD and it has enough power and handling to wear that badge.

I ve been trying to build a diesel version of the gti to warrant the gtd badge, fitting gti styling, with the plans to boost the power to around 200bhp and 300 lbs torque,
And fit gti or s3 brakes,

I think the red strip works well don't like them in other colours, it matcha in with the red calipers and contrasts the grey nicely

Had the car remapped just before Christmas with revo software, make a massive difference car should be around 185/190 bhp and 300 lbs of torque :)

The down side to this is its killed my turbo, had my suspicions it was weak any way,

so went for a grand new Garrett unit, cars back to full health now and I'm happy haha

Ah nice! What is your fuel economy like now it's remapped? And how much did the turbo set you back?

Got a fairly good deal on turbo at £500, was a new unit not re con, brakes seem fine but I don't really drive the car hard, as for economy if you use the extra power it's it's mid 40s mpg, but drive sensible and it's a lot better than before it was mapped
