Redgolfdom's...red golf
« on: August 10, 2015, 09:21:34 pm »
So i decided to finally get around to making a build thread. With having the car for 2 years now it's gone through a few changes, and a lot of small little changes such as seat inserts etc which I wont bore you with. Also a few of the pictures are old which I have just taken from my instagram so quality may not be great.

Anyway as I said, 2 years ago i bought my golf from lancaster vw. It's a 1.4 tsi gt sport the twincharged one at 140hp. And here is a picture of the day i brought it back to sunny old blackpool!

A few mods from the off like k&n panel filter, badges and carbon wrapping centre console, here's a quick pic

After about a year I started to get bored to remapped it and cleaned up the bay with some paint and caps. There's is an r8 oil cap just not in the picture!

Definitely need to sort out a plastic battery box instead of that stupid thing that is there soon  :signLOL:
Next I started with the head unit. I got an android 4.2.2 unit ftom ebay. It's great and I do have a review on that. I also went the chrome route for the grille and wing mirrors for summer.

Forgot to mention i bought vcds hence the amber running lights. Also did a few other things like auto lock and unlock seeing as though i dont have the highline display so cant otherwise :sad1:

One of the last things I done is bought Valeo LED tail lights from a forum member which I have wanted for ages and they finally have made me start to like the rear end of my car. It just looked so boring without them. So here is a night and day of them.

And that is about where I'm up to! Bought an r32 bumper from on here so that's up next. Also want some hella xenon look head lights to clean up the front. Lots of other things which I haven't bothered mentioning but all is well! Timing chain and water pump had also been changed.

So done my r32 bumper and went with a bcs catback! Quality of the exhaust is brilliant and paintwork was done by someone local to me and it's spot on! Night and day pics

Lovely car mate, I'm intrigued about the amber running lights? can you have them on with the normal GT headlights are would you need to upgrade them to GTI ones or anything like that?

Thanks mate, yeah I just have the standard ones in. I think the difference is with the xenon head lights are the indicators are all the way across the bottom instead of just half

Lovely looking car - minus the chrome though.
Prefer the standard grille.
