My new JDM White 5 Door Mk5 Gti Golf
« on: August 12, 2015, 02:29:17 pm »
Hi All,

After many weeks of searching for a white mkV white Gti in 5 door with DSG, I have failed in Ireland so I have just purchased one in Japan and its in the process of being shipped.

Couldnt be happier, its a grade 4B in the colour I wanted and 5 door DSG.

Now I am waiting to find out the full spec and what extras it has.

I have plenty of plans.

These are the only pictures I currently have and waiting on full specs and more pics.

Already I have the modding bug and so far I will be looking for help on fitting mk6 gti paddle shift steering wheel, then I want 18'' detroit wheels and I will go from there.

Also what is the biggest single thing that can be upgraded performance wise to free up some power that wont cost a bomb?

Hope you all like, its going to be a long wait haha and I dont think there will be to many Jdm golfs around.

Shane

Yes i could not find a single 5 door white dsg gti golf forsale in Ireland.

I now have many more pictures il upload soon.

The japs dont list every single feature in the auction sheet unless its obvious, i just know its spotless clean grade 4 and alot of the features the VW offer will be unknown to me until it actually lands.

Very nice mate. I had a 22 year old JDM mx5 and it was in amazing condition with no rust at all but the first thing on your list with any jap import should be underseal

Yes its very common to import a car and not know the specification as some of the auction houses in Japan are very vague.

Did you get a good deal on it mate?

Surely it costs you more then to buy one and get it sprayed or wrapped?

How do you go about buying one of these? What auction website was it off? After buying how much do they realistically cost to register over here etc

There was a 85k, 5 door, white, DSG Edition 30 for sale up here in Belfast last week for £8500 Agnew AutoExchange.

Not many extras on it though.

Pretty sure it sold within a day.

I had a guy come and collect something I sold on eBay about a year ago and he had a red jap import mk5 gti dsg and it literally had every single optional extra available including parking sensors, electric folding mirrors, highline dash, xenons etc the lot... I'm still yet to see another packed with all the extras.
