Starting Ruff
« on: August 05, 2015, 09:48:23 am »
Morning Guys

Got a quick question our mk5 Golf Gti seems to be starting a bit ruff in the mornings, all ok when warm.

It had plugs and service about 8k ago although I am planing a service very soon.

Its a bit strange and hard to explain but its nothing turning over for long but when it catches it sounds very lumpy for a split second almost starts like a diesel with a glow plug out if you know what I mean,

Hope this makes sense

Thanks

Craig

To make progress on this type of issue its best to have the vehicle scanned with VCDS tool any of these near you:-

Thats a bit far for me, will do a forum search and see if theres anyone closer.

Ive used the cleaner that u inject into the spark plugs before (not on the gti) smoked like hell for about 5 mins after,

Thanks :happy2:

Just a quick Update, think I may go for the Terraclean to see if that helps its £155 including the Intake Manifold.

terraclean is a waste of monet, if you want the inlet cleaned then it needs doing the old fashioned way

All of these engines splutter in to life on first start, the high pressure fuelling system needs to repressurise which is done upon cranking of the engine
