Title: What does Readiness resetting do ?

Hi , so ive had a few faults after putting a sports cat down pipe on ,  after changing it back to stock and now replacing the o2 Cat sensor  i have been through on Basic settings VCDS and tested everything ..... So now my Readiness is all green , my question is what is the point in doing this ,  ?
