Title: Radio Quadlock Output Signals
Post by: fatman57 on August 24, 2015, 09:19:09 am
Hey,

Got a Mk5 Golf a few months ago and am so far very happy - beautiful cars they really are!

Trying to install an aftermarket underseat subwoofer - currently have a standard radio in 2007 car, so nothing fancy. There are 2 methods: either branch off the speaker output signals or plug into a low power output.

I have found conflicting information on what the pins for each part of the quadlock are. One pair I can see is labelled as 'AUX OUTPUT' for both left and right channels (one of the 12 pin connectors at the bottom of the quadlock) - is this correct?

If yes could I simply splice these in two and run one output to my subwoofer and the other back into the car (back to wherever it leads to?). I do not really want to draw off the higher power speaker outputs if I can, so am looking basically for low power outputs from the standard radio.

Much obliged for any help!

Dan
