I do like the rns510, does this have a output for a rear sub tho?It can be connected to a rear sub. AFAIK for a great sound it will also need a DSP, better crossovers, 2 amplifiers and better speakers (3 ways front, 2 ways rear).

Used a connects2 fitting kit which comes with fascia, cage, canbus interface, loom and aerial adapter.
Works OK. User interface feels a bit dated and the iPod integration could be better. But it feels well made especially when I compared it to similarly priced Pioneers.

I had a Kenwood DNX520VBT (like above) in my last ED30 and wasn't a huge fan. It was old and felt old, bluetooth doesn't do audio streaming either.
I also used a Kenwood DDX-4025DAB. That was ok apart from the screen was way too dim and you couldn't see it.
This time I have just fitted a Pioneer AVH-X2700BT and I really like it. The customisation options for both the looks and sound are great, and its really smooth and easy to use. The sound quality is great with standard speakers too and the screen can actually be seen. It doesn't have nav but i never use in built nav systems as they're never up to date. I have a Brodit phone holder so always use google maps or the likes. The other plus of this stereo is the quality of the bluetooth module as it has new technology in it, I always stream my music from my phone so thats a great addition for me. I'll grab a photo later.

The slightly more expensive ones run android which is quicker and allows much more in the way of customisation.
The thing that put me off the android versions was lack of customer support, reviews saying hands free BT was poor quality.

Mine is the DNX520VBT. And yes works perfectly with the MFSW and reverse camera if inst. Built in Bluetooth, USB, DVD & DiVX video support, and the best part is with sat-nav Garmin ('free any map update in the world') with UK traffic update. It came as part of a 'full' kit. If you already have the loom etc it may be worth contacting Connects2 for the part number for just the cage/inner fascia/outer fascia.Cheers. Yeah I've got all the other bits but if I can't get just the facia I can always sell the kit with my old facia and get something back for at least... Thanks for your help

You can use VCDS to choose 3 different themes. That shown above is called Sportsline, I think, which is what I like the most and use in my RNS-510. It came from factory like that in my Ed. 30. :happy2:510 here also...How did you get your background like that ?

RNS510 here also, I spent weeks trying to find a suitable headunit, after trying some of the cheaper ones I didn't think I could beat VW quality, albeit the posh Kenwood one they are selling at the stealers is very good!

Yes everything work's, steering wheel control's and also parking sensors too both audio and visual, did have to buy the Alpine module separate to get it all working but it was well worth the money, the main head unit was £900!

Looks like a massive improvement over the previous units so may scan eBay for a good priced unit and see how I get on with it. Importantly, it's fully OEM supported so all the functions in my mk6 Golf that use the stereo screen should still work just like stock.

After speaking to the guys at Car Audio Security the other week, I mentioned my disliking of the Kenwood DNX520VBT unit and they suggested trying the newer version of it, the DNX525DAB:Hiya, can you elaborate on your disliking of the Dnx520?

Looks like a massive improvement over the previous units so may scan eBay for a good priced unit and see how I get on with it. Importantly, it's fully OEM supported so all the functions in my mk6 Golf that use the stereo screen should still work just like stock.

Did you get round to buying the Kenwood DNX525DAB? It's one I have been looking at getting soon, but have also taken an interest to the Pioneer AVIC-F70DAB.
Anybody got either of the above two mentioned?

I'm still miffed there's only a handful of Android Auto headunits available in the UK :( CAD only stock 3 models from Pioneer, and Kenwood don't seem to have any UK models yet (there are a couple of models on their US site)
I desperately want something that properly integrates with my Galaxy S6!

Yeah iPod plugs into the back of the unit. Think the 525 is an improvement but costs substantially morecheers for the info will have a look at this unit as well and also does it work with a mfsw and display in the high line dash @white91 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=13025)
