Title: MK5 GT TDI 140 Service Parts Kit
Post by: trancem on November 12, 2015, 09:17:06 am
Hi guys

I have just bought a MK5 GT TDI  (140) and for peace of mind I want to have it fully serviced

Is there anywhere/one on the forum I can purchase the service parts?

What do I need? Oil/washer/filter/air, fuel and pollen filter?

Do I need anything else? It's a 55 plate with around 87k on the clock

Is it worth going directly to VW for the parts or is there any trader on the forum I can buy from?

What oil do people recommend?

Thanks

just go to Euro parts mate cheaper than the stealers, you normally need fuel filter pollen filter oil filter and air filter yo may need to buy a tool or large socket to remove your oil filter.

Didn't update this

Bought a OEM service kit from GSF Car Parts through their ebay store, worked out about £28 as opposed to £40+ going direct. Then bought myself some oil through Opie Oils

Carried out a full service on my car, everything went smoothly. Changed the oil with Mobil 1 5w30, oil, fuel, air and pollen filters.

Happy I got it done asap, the oil was filthy black and the oil and fuel filters looked like they hadnt been changed for years!!!

Nice one, saved you the £300 the stealers charge for a full service!!

Yes, cost me about £65-£70 all in. Very happy with that

Want to flush the coolant and brake fluid next but don't fancy doing that myself so will have to take it to a garage!
