Title: Bosch Aerotwin Wipers fitting help please!
Post by: trancem on December 17, 2015, 04:17:59 pm
Hi guys

How embarrassing. Never thought I'd need help on wiper blades

Bought a set of Bosch Aerotwin A980S wiper blades from Euro Car Parts, however I can't seem to fit them

They've come as the "slide" type ones where they slide into the wiper arm holder. However my existing wipers seem to be a different type. They seem to be fitted onto a metal rod where it pierces through the wiper

Am I missing something here or have I bought the wrong type of wipers??

Thanks

You may have bought the wrong wipers.

There are two types of wiper fittings. It changed for the 2006 MY.

Yep. Mine is a 55 plate and it seems I've ordered the ones for the later models.

I ordered the A980S, having a look on eurocarparts I think I need the A937S - http://www.eurocarparts.com/mobile/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_2.0_2006/p/car-parts/car-body-parts-and-car-exhaust/wipers/wiper-blade/?485774020&1&ef8c883f1c74071d20c3e6cb849ae9e96691a91e&000604

Yep it's A980S wipers for cars that are late 2005 onwards and A937S for mk5s that predate that! My car is late December 2004 though it is the 05 shape and it takes the A937S Bosch wipers for the front windscreen and A330H for the rear.

Yep. Went to ECP to return the bosch ones, they didn't have the A937S in stock so ended up with Valeo VM 310's, which are the correct fitment and seem fine :)
