Has anyone on here made the change from a ram air induction kit too a Revo one? Was there any noticeable differences in performance? And a difference in sound?
-
I haven't owned either but i have a ram air on it way to me.
I hear people get good results with both. both are loud too
-
I am also after an insight to this as there is quite a price difference for a piece of kit that aren't so different?

I have a ram air. I think it's too loud tbh. On my old mk4 I liked the induction on that as you only got a tshhhh noise when you let off the accelerator quick. But on the ram air it kind of sounds like a kettle. Loud sucking all the time. I was hoping to change the end of the filter to a cotton one to see if it changes the sound at all.

My pal has a mk6 r with a ram air intake on and it was sooooo quiet you wouldn't of known it was fitted then it was mapped at rtech and you can hear it a little more but no where near the same as my stock gti used to sound with the revo one on. Bit strange as people are saying the ram air is loud :chicken: anyways revo one for me sounds better, looks better and is a well made product.

I swear by my RAMAIR. Got the 90mm oversized one.
Loud tsshhh sound with each gear change, and can make it flutter a little if you know how.
Based on non mapped mk5 gti.
Interested to find out if any difference when I get it mapped at R-tech this year

Do you have the stock DV if that makes any difference? I was thinking of getting a forge recir for pure noise

Yep, it's still stock at the moment. On my list of things to change.

I'm just not sure if it's worth spending an extra £100+ for a Revo or Evoms intake
-
Someone who knows better will be along shortly to tell you about 'Air Trims' and how the Revo is about as good as it gets

LTFTs. Long term fuel trims. I've read a bit about it but I'm no expert. Something to do with ecu adjusting the afr? It gets a bit complex!
But I've heard good things about the Revo intake.
