Hi all noticed a couple day ago when I start the golf up in the morning it's misfireing! But it only does it on tick over because of you Rev it or slowly build it up it sound normal ? But once the car is fully warmed up no misfires at all :/ could this be carbon build up on valves ? As the car has done 170k with no cleaning and going to do a compression test but does any know the right psi that should be in watch cylinder ?
Any help is appreciated

Car can struggle firing over on a cold start.... Has it only happened recently enough with cold weather?
Does it happen when you've been driving for a while and then you turn engine off to get petrol or something and start it back up?
-
Nope only when you start from cold was only worried because it flung a engine management light but once hot no issues at all

Could just be struggling in the cold. Since keeping mine in the basement carpark it hasn't struggled at all. The odd time I leave it outside it struggles on turn over so I figure it's no big deal!

It's a common theme with the GTI engine. It splutters to life in cold weather. But it definitely doesn't misfire once it's on. Check misfire counters on VCDS measuring blocks.

Ok got the fault code reader out and the code I'm getting is a P0011 a camshaft position timing over-advanced or system performance bank 1? I mean wtf is that is it just a timing sensor ?

It's weird I've just changed my oil pick up pipe because is was blacked and flung a low oil pressure light changed that then a week later I get this do you think it could be related because I know my timing is bang on and there's been no problem with fuel or unless the camshaft sensor is playing up ?
