Title: Rear disc back plate rotted through
Post by: Lewo on March 12, 2016, 08:43:03 am
On way to mates workshop yesterday to have the cam follower done, the NSR backplate rotted through, he managed to cut it off as a temporary measure and said it's a common thing on the golfs?
Is it wise that I order one next week or is it ok to run without and any ideas on how much they are?
Cheers.

You can run without or replace should cost under £15

Mine rotted then started making noises as they fell to bits on my old mk4. Got rid of them completely on the front when I upgraded to LCR brakes. No issue.

In fact I've had stones lodge between disc and the so called stone guard on the mk5. Proper pain in the arse. They'll be getting binned when I stick a BBK on.
