Ok so I performed a compression test today on my MK5 Gti.
The test was performed on a hot engine, with throttle open and fuel pump fuse removed.
My results were 190-195psi across all cylinders. Wet test was 235-240psi across all cylinders.
Now I was thinking because of the increase of pressure on the wet test this could be piston rings, or will all wet tests increase in pressure?
Haven't had any issues with it other than it chewing up oil, but then that seems pretty common for the MK5 Gti. I'm also running a stage 2 remap if that makes any difference.
Cheers!!

There decent results, a wet test will genrally increase them, what was the reason for the test ?
If your not burning oil and it's running fine I wouldn't worry at all, if a cylinder was more than 15% difference that's when it's time to start digging

Afraid I cant help hat much but the dry test figures are right. What fuse is the fuel pump mate
-
Just did the test because of the oil consumption. Its not huge but have to top it up now and then.
-
The fuse for the fuel pump is inside between the dash and the door.
-
passenger side or drivers? not in with the other fuses in the normal location next to the battery then? Don't suppose you remember what number at all?
-
Its on the drivers side, number 27. Its a blue 15 amp one. There is diagrams for it in your owners manual. Its in the tips and maintenance part.

Sounds like the cylinder walls and compression rings are fine, but the oil control rings perhaps not so good, but as you say, very common on the AXX engine.
For some reason the BYD engine in the Edition 30 uses hardly any oil at all.
-
I know diddly squat about this stuff except to say that I was topping up oil quite a lot when using Castrol/Quantum 5/30 oil and having swapped to Millers 5/40 hardly at all.
-
5/30 in my edition 30 it used to use a lot changed the oil to 5/40 and it used a litre in 5k miles. What oil you using mate
