Hello.
I've had a search though previous posts and seen people recommend S3 and TT bushes to upgrade standard ones.
Are they the same thing or is one better than the other?
Thanks.

What sort of job is it?
If I get these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-OEM-Quality-Front-Wishbone-Bushes-Consoles-Audi-TT-Quattro-TTRS-8J0199231-/401070172895?hash=item5d61a52adf:g:SIcAAOxy3cJTiHgW (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-OEM-Quality-Front-Wishbone-Bushes-Consoles-Audi-TT-Quattro-TTRS-8J0199231-/401070172895?hash=item5d61a52adf:g:SIcAAOxy3cJTiHgW) I presume it makes the job easier but will the tracking need doing after?

I believe that if you are buying TT type already in the housing the dimensions are different. You need MK5 consoles with TT bushes. I got "Febi 33973" ones... OEM TT/S3 quality (solid/no holes) and cheap as chips from Amazon or eBay. Easy to press in/out when the console is off, but a PITA to get off if the 3 bolts that go through the console into the ali subframe seize! WD40 the bolts plenty from top/bottom and go for a cup of tea before even trying to undo them, if they pick up some ali thread on their way out they'll snap before they come out. I got one off and had to do the other in situ as I only managed to get 2/3 out of the offside. I found the bush that inserts into the wishbone to be the hardest part :)

THanks for that.
There is some talk of those bolts being stretch bolts - did you get fresh ones?

Nope, I just put the same ones back in. They are 10.9 high tensile, so not stretch bolts.
I think they used to be stretch bolts on older VAG cars, but subframe knocking issues means they now use 10.9. I'm sure someone will tell you if I'm wrong :)
