Title: What side is REAR RIGHT ?
Post by: 80walk on August 02, 2016, 08:45:44 am
abs, esp and tyre pressure light all on dash ... scanned and code 00287 comes up

00287 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Rear Right (G44)

stupid question but which side is rear right ? ... is it as you stand looking at the engine or standing at the rear of the car ?

Gonna try new sensor first at £15.

thanks.

IMO that would be offside rear. if you were sat in the car the right would be to your right.

It's just plastic I'd just use a small punch or screw driver and a hammer then smash it up, maybe the magnetic ring on the back of the bearing either

Done it loads no problem, it should just fall out unless the driveshaft stops it. May need to remove bottom ball joint and hub nut to allow the shaft to open a space up

this has happened on the rear right ... if i were to punch it out or drill it our from the inner side of the car isn't it a prob if the left over bits of the sensor are pushed inside the hub of the wheel ... ??
