I am correct in thinking the edition 35 has a different engine and turbo to the standard gti....? whats the market value of these now...? book price ect...? any advice would be great thanks.

Yes the GTI has a EA888 engine, The Edition 35 uses the CDL EA113 engine which is a de-tuned MK6 Golf R/Audi S3 engine.
Book price I have no idea but cars such as the Edition 30 and Edition 35 hold their money well.
Edition 35's are anything between £15-£20K depending on Age, Condition and Mileage.

I thought CDL was a TFSI engine, and the mk6's are TSI engines? I've also heard TSI engines are pretty much TFSI engines... But having a cambelt and a camchain seems like a reasonable difference between the two!

Great info Butler!

I'm informed that apparently the Ed35 has the detuned Golf R engine and is therefore belt driven and branded TSI although has more of the features of a TFSI unit.
