Title: MK5 Golf GTI warning lights
Post by: Black9 on September 01, 2016, 07:22:07 pm
Got the following lights on my dash,

Steering sensor
ABS
Handbrake
Tyre pressure
Traction control

Car was parked up for around 15 months and I've got it back on the road recently, car drives flawlessly apart these lights. I had them coded off but they came back after 30 secs of driving. Car had no warning lights before it was parked up..

What should be my first port of call? Could the sensors be corroded?

I'd get a new battery first.

Steering sensor, start driving and this should turn off within 20 metres if all is well
ABS,not sure
Handbrake, Rear calipers sticking, car thinks handbrake is on?
Tyre pressure, Pump tyres to correct pressure and then press/hold the set button just infront of the gear stick
Traction control, start driving and press the button to the left of the SET infront of the gear stick.

Hopefully some of these might work for you.

Tried all of the above tbh and it hasn't worked. That's why I think it's faulty sensors as before car was parked up there was no warning lights etc..
