Title: Knocking sound from front, advice?

Recently posted about a knocking sound from my wheel area, took my car to my local today and we've narrowed the knock down to the steering rack itself  :doh: there was no play in the ball joints and the rest of the rods were solid too, my question is am I alright to drive with this rack on for a couple months whilst I get the money together to replace it?

Yep.

Last time mine went into VW for a service, they said my rack had a slight bit of play in it too.   The joys.  That'll be a £1500 ish bill coming up for me too soon, then!
