Title: Is my headlight broken?
Post by: sdt492 on March 20, 2017, 10:25:03 pm
This evening the drivers side full beam bulb popped on my '08 Golf Gti. No big shakes I thought as I had a spare H7 in the garage. Popped the cap off the light & as I went to remove the wiring plug I noticed that the bulb & the entire reflector was loose & practically rattling around. Changed the bulb & put everything back as it was and now the full beam is considerably lower than the other side.

Is the headlight knackered or is there a simple fix?

Put up photos, it sounds like you have a cracked support fixing for the light.

Can happen if you change a bulb in the cold and the plastic cracks. Last owner could have glued it back on and then one bump knocked it loose.

Alternatively, you could have just put it in arseways which isn't uncommon. Getting your hand in there can be a pain!
