Title: Bosch Oven Keeps Blowing Bulbs, Grrr!
Post by: Juliand on April 15, 2017, 06:20:23 pm
Random, but anyone any thoughts on this, please?

Just changed the bulb, again, after only four weeks. They only seem to last 3 months, at best. I called Bosch to query, as I thought that maybe a sealing washer was missing, but they sent a diagram and it doesn't show that there should be a washer - just the bulb, with glass cover screwed on top. 6 bulbs in less than 2 years......

It's really naffing me off now, so any suggestions welcome. Got to be something to do with the heat, but I am using proper oven bulbs. :slap:

Are you using the same bulb supplier? I had same problem with homebase, 3 bulbs in six months, got a decent one from amazon hasn't been a problem since.

I have the same problem....... and also with hob extractor bulbs, they're halogen 'incandescent replacement' bulbs, which just get too hot and blow every few weeks.

I'm trying to hunt down some old school incandescent bulbs which seem to last for years.

I had this issue, and found that I was over tightening the new bulbs. Screw them in then back it off half a turn.

I'll try that. Thanks for all comments. Have now bought some 'Philips' bulbs, so see how that goes, combined with the half turn back.

Cheers
