Does anyone have wheels with the above statistics on their car with standard suspension? Do you have any issues with rubbing, or is it just about ok?
Anyone have any front/rear photos of their car to show how much the 15mm that wheels sit further out looks like in real life?!
-
I have some BBS VZ's that are ET 44 and they sit great in the arches, no rubbing problems and im lowered 25-30mm! I will try and find my pics .....
-
These pics dont really help http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=10753.0

Lol, they help a bit, thanks.
Would i be correct in saying that a wheel with a lower offset really needs the car to be lowered to improve the look, or not necessarily?
I dont intend to lower my car, but ive just realised that the wheels from my young teenage dreams will fit the Mk5.

My Speedlines are 18x8 ET42 with a 225/40/18 tyre.
Car is lowered with no dramas. You'll be fine.

Them Speedlines are far to nice for hooning round a track Mike, you should do a deal with me for my TD's, then I can have the Turini's re-finished in anthracite and everyones happy
-
That is perfect looking.

I fail to see where I get to be happy on that deal? Ha ha, you can but try eh!! Just buy some and have done with it, although I seem to remember Speedline UK hadn't got any anthracite in 5x112 and wouldn't order any either when I was looking.
The wheels beg to be hooned, it's in their DNA.
-
Are these Speedlines the same as the ones on the silver Ed30 that was at the Pod last month? If so, I had been wondering what they were!
-
Ahh dunno, I was at Oulton that day so couldn't make it.
There's a couple of sets on here now, Tom has some too. Das Turini.

Thats the problem, thay don't actually make them in anthracite, and won't until they get a big enough order, it doesn't seem right to order new 1's in silver then get them painted.
p.s there'd be cash your way of course

I'd be lynched by those who claim to have 1st, 2nd and 3rd dibs on them!!
I might have mine re-done in anthracite now you mention it.......

What is it about these turini's, I don't think they are a nice looking wheel on our cars  or, is it like the 1.2's and more about the weight/performance benefit, people seem to go mad about them... :happy2:

each to their own, but I think they look the biz on a silver ed30 but still manage to keep an oem look :happy2:
and save a few kgs per corner over pesc's or detroits

so get yourself some lightweight rims and remove that bonnet bra  and you might get into the 13s
-
I'm in the 13's... 0.2 behind you on the day iirc with my measly bf stage 2, maybe equal without the bonnet bra (although required for 300 mile round trip) :P
They look ok on your car, i'm just not a fan, then again I change my mind everyday...

Not necessarily!!
I have 8x18" ET42's on mine with with 225/40/18 tyres and they rub on the front arch screw over big bumps. May be down to the tyre shape as much as the wheel size/offset.
:drinking:
-
Good point, I've done the screw remove and tuck the liner mod. No drama since.
